Council-Sponsored Events Update

Here are some upcoming events, sponsored in part by the Fairhaven Cultural Council! Mark these on your calendar:

ArtWorks! is celebrating its tenth year of the Teen Artist Internship Program. TAIP’s goal is to inspire and educate high school juniors and seniors interested in pursuing a career in the visual arts. Their current exhibit, Alchemy, runs from May 8 through May 30, 2014 at NBAM/ArtWorks in the Vault Main Gallery area. 

The Greater New Bedford Choral Society, directed by Gerald P. Dyck and accompanied by Christopher Ricci, will present its Spring Concert on May 11, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at the First Unitarian Church in New Bedford and on May 18, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. at St. Bonaventure Church, 803 State Road in Plymouth. Magician Scott Jameson
Tri-County Symphonic Band will hold their annual Pops Concert and fundraiser "Fairy Tales, Witches and Wizards" on Sunday, June 8, 2014.

And bring the family to Magic by Scott Jameson at the Millicent Library on June 26, 2014 at 10 a.m. and be mesmerized by some amazing feats!

The 19th Annual New Bedford Folk Festival will be held on July 5 & 6, 2014.  Seven stages will feature musical acts including the Zeiterion Performing Arts Theater and the Whaling Museum Theater. Performers include Chris Smither, Christine Lavin with Don White, John Gorka, Poor Old Shine and more. Visit their site for more information.

To celebrate its 25th season, New Bedford Festival Theatre will present Rodgers and Hammerstein’s musical The Sound of Music from July 25 through August 3, 2014 at the Zeiterion Performing Arts Center, New Bedford, MA. Tickets are available now!
