Exciting Spring Events

There are some fantastic events coming up this spring, sponsored in part by the Fairhaven Cultural Council! Mark these on your calendar:

Congrats to Tri-County Symphonic Band on their recent "New York, New York" concert featuring flutist Leslie Stroud. The concert was held on Sunday, March 16. Read more about it in the New Bedford Standard-Times . Don't miss their annual Pops Concert and fundraiser "Fairy Tales, Witches and Wizards" on Sunday, June 8, 2014.

Art on Center in Fairhaven is seeking entries for their upcoming art exhibit titled Art of Fairhaven: Past, Present and Future. Entries are due April 16. Cash prizes will be awarded in several categories; all ages are welcome to enter for a small fee. The exhibit will run from April 19-24, 2014.

New Bedford Festival Theater will be holding its auditions for The Sound of Music on Sunday, March 23. You can also buy advanced tickets now through their web site. Performances will be at the Zeiterion Theater, July 25-27 and July 31-August 3, 2014. Congrats to NBFT on their 25th season!!

Storyteller Davis Bates
Fairhaven High School Theater Company will present their production of The Wizard of Oz April 3-5, 2014 at 7:30 p.m. and April 6 at 2 p.m. Performances will take place at the F.H.S. Performing Arts Center.

Community members of all ages are invited to storyteller-musician Davis Bates' presentation of "Celebrating New England". This multi-generational event will be held at the the Fairhaven Senior Center/Council on Aging on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 10 a.m.  It's school vacation week, so we hope to see lots of kids and families there!

And bring the family to Magic by Scott Jameson at the Millicent Library on June 26, 2014 at 10 a.m. and be mesmerized by some amazing feats!
